Henri Matisse - Nude's Back
Matisse was always fascinated by the female figure, and he spent a lifetime creating it using various techniques: drawing, painting or collage.
Many years ago, the “Nude’s Back” was the first of his works that made me want to see it one day. This is how my personal tribute took shape, following Matisse’s own creative process.
Mosaic, 20x20 cm.
Made with glass paste tiles, from the kilns of the Fornace Storica Orsoni. Colours: brilliant white and black.
Each mosaic can be framed to choice: wood (treated and waxed) either whitewashed or dark-brown effect; otherwise oxidized iron whichever best fits with your environment and personal taste.
